April is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month and in a predominantly male industry like ours, this is something we can’t ignore.
Testicular cancer is most common in men aged 25–40, with around 2,400 people diagnosed each year in the UK. The most common sign? A lump, swelling, or a dull ache something that can easily be dismissed or ignored.
But here’s the reality: early detection saves lives!
Too many men delay speaking up or getting checked. We want to spread to awareness to help change that.
Check yourself regularly: it takes just a couple of minutes and could make all the difference
Know what’s normal for you: if something feels different, get it checked
Don’t delay: most symptoms turn out to be nothing serious, but it’s always worth checking
Talk about it: normalising these conversations could save a colleague, a friend, or even your own life
Check out the below on Macmillan Cancer Support Website for more information on understanding it and how you can check:
Let’s look out for ourselves and each other.
